Another excellent but cold day at Cwmcarn. We started of as 8 people, became 13, & then split into 2 groups.

9 of us headed off from the normal trail by the picnic area, climbing a couple of miles along firetrack, before pitching over the edge down some hidden, but used trails. Parts of this descent were WAY beyond my ability, but it was great fun and challenging! We were watching one youngster creaming down & over some 15 ft jumps; endo'ing round almost vertical switchbacks, and generally behaving in an extremely competent manner.

We ended this descent right by the ranger station - almost right back down at the bottom again, so we had to climb all the way back up - on firetrack, this time.

I hadn't planned on the extra hour for the additional loop, so ran out of food (1 banana!) & water about 1/2 way back up the climb, so was pretty well knackered by the end.

That final descent back into the car park just keeps getting better.
